Our LEED Efficiency

By implementing water and electricity efficient fixtures, Summertown were able to reduce water consumption by 32% and energy consumption by 50%.

Water efficient fixtures:

  • Sensor controlled urinals (less than 1 liter water per flush)
  • Dual flush flush-tanks (3 or 6 liter per flush)
  • Low flow wash basin bathroom mixers (less than 2 liter/minute)
  • Slow flow kitchen sink mixers (less than 7 liter/minute)

Electricity efficient fixtures:

  • LED and compact fluorescent lighting
  • Day-light sensor controlled lighting
  • Central Building Management System for lighting and air-conditioning
  • Occupancy sensors in bathrooms
  • All equipment (computers, fridge, printers, fax, etc, etc) is Energy Star rated

Recycling:

  • Sourcing of green materials such as steel, glass, flooring, furniture, and ceilings were selected based on being manufactured with a minimum of 50% recycle content

Construction waste management:

  • Development and implementation of a construction and waste management plan quantifying materials diversion goals as we could not dispose of it to a landfill
  • Re-use of waste generated at site
  • Re-selling of waste to a third party
