Heidi Deymunck, Sales Director and Head of Interior Design at Summertown Interiors, emphasised the importance of an eco-conscious workplace at Interiors UAE 2010 on Tuesday 30 March.

UAE Interiors is the local and regional flagship event for the design led interiors sector, and Heidi attended to reinforce her beliefs in the importance of upholding first-class standards of interior design whilst implementing a ‘green’ policy.

“At Summertown we strongly believe that an environmentally friendly interior is something that is invaluable for optimising business performance, something that is reflected by our Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification.  At the same time, our interior fit-out solutions crucially embody a philosophy of design excellence. Our premises in Jebel Ali Free Zone showcase an aesthetic interior that is beneficial not only to the environment but also to employees and guests”

Coming from an extensive number of years in design, Heidi's aim through speaking at conference and seminars is to illustrate to companies wishing to adopt an eye-catching yet functional workspace that the introduction of such features as water efficiency and minimal energy use do not have to mean an uninspiring workspace.  Furthermore Summertown's environmental intelligence will serve to increase output and overall productivity.

“Our own workspace has reduced water consumption by more than 32 per cent, building lighting energy by about 54.98 per cent and at the same time, ventilation through CO2 censors has been increased, all of which create a superior working environment that is conducive to the health, attitude and thus the efficiency of our employees.  Ultimately, each of our projects must personify the people as well as project an eco-friendly vision and exquisite designs of the highest quality. ”
