HCT Enriching Student Lives
DWC is a growing Center of Excellence for Entrepreneurship offering the latest technology. Their mission is to produce an extraordinary group of female students who will keep pace with the dramatically changing society of the UAE, preserve national identity and provide a Global learning experience.
Their aim was to transform their current library into a stimulating space for the girls to learn, communicate and work in teams but most importantly be inspired by their surroundings. Their priority was to promote reading, project writing, communication and creativity at the College.
The client noticed that the girls were not interested in being in the library and this was having a direct impact on the amount of books they were reading and after – work schooling being carried out. The current layout and design was lacking inspiration and motivation.
By working within the brief provided by the College, Summertown Interiors came up with the perfect solution by creating a fun, inspiring and team-engaging space. This was achieved by removing all dull and bulky furniture and bringing in bright colors, opening the space as well as revamping the reception counter to create a WELCOMING feel.
Large, comfortable, vibrant couches were placed in large open spaces offering large areas for student interaction, team work and relaxation.
Throughout the library, large pillars that were previously dark and drab in color were painted in apple greens and inspirational yellows to open the space and make it more appealing and enticing to the students.
This is yet another example of how Summertown Interiors’ team has improved the workings of SPACE by developing a great understanding of the changes that were needed. These changes were executed with the best designers and best craftsmanship available in the UAE, tailor-making this space to a world-class design.
