On opening its Dubai branch, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (“SMBC”) became the first Japanese commercial bank to establish a branch in the DIFC. With Dubai the logistical centre of the Middle East, it is staffed by experts on trade and project finance as well as corporate finance, and provides high quality solutions to meet the various financial customers in the Middle East
Nikken Sekkei Japan designs office space for Sumitomo SMBC Dubai Branch, and local implementation required a turnkey fit out package to also include the provision of furniture. The Summertown Interiors BR team was able to contribute local expertise and technical knowledge and further enhance the design concept and ensure that the high-specified MEP and IT requirements could be met.

The results an elegant and sophisticated office environment that fulfilled all aesthetics and technical requirements and brand image of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation.
