Project Overview
DIFC had a clear ambition: to create a home for the region’s next generation of FinTech companies. Not just office space, but a true destination.
Summertown delivered the full design and build at Gate Avenue, Dubai. We transformed existing shell and core spaces into 22 flexible, move-in-ready office suites. The project also included a public auditorium and social connection zones, all designed around collaboration and activity-based working.
We worked closely with design partners Roar and Say Studio throughout. Together, we brought the DIFC Innovation Hub to life across a brief that grew in scope and ambition as the build progressed. The space was inaugurated on 25 May 2021 by His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and President of DIFC.
DIFC Innovation Hub Highlights
The public areas are where the project makes its mark. A 5 x 3m auditorium screen, a custom table tennis table inspired by the Euro symbol, and the iconic Money Tree, a bespoke sculpture featuring 440 Dirham coins and suspended coin lights as foliage, make this far more than a typical office fit-out in Dubai.
LEED Silver Certified
Gate Avenue holds a LEED Gold building rating. For the new interiors at the DIFC Innovation Hub, Summertown was awarded LEED Silver Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council, demonstrating that sustainable fit-out and bold design can absolutely coexist.
