Schneider Electric’s Nest project in Dubai Silicon Oasis has achieved LEED Platinum, the highest level of LEED accreditation, alongside WELL Equity certification. Meanwhile, a leading international pharmaceutical company’s new workspace in Dubai Media City has achieved LEED Gold certification.
These achievements are more than credentials to showcase. They show that sustainable office fit-outs in Dubai and across the UAE can meet the highest international standards, across different sectors, project sizes, and client ambitions.
Schneider Electric: LEED Platinum and WELL Equity at The Nest, Dubai Silicon Oasis
Summertown Interiors refurbished two full floors of Schneider Electric’s Dubai Silicon Oasis headquarters, working alongside JLL MENA as project managers and Gensler as lead designers.
The scope was substantial, including bespoke joinery, a data centre and training hub, townhall spaces, meeting rooms, AV and IT infrastructure, the Schneider Electric Innovation Hub, and new HVAC systems. Every decision, from material sourcing to waste management, was guided by a clear commitment to sustainability.
Of course, sustainability was not something added at the end. It shaped the project from the very start, including how waste was managed on site. Out of the 10,759 kg of construction waste generated, 10,049 kg was recycled or reused, resulting in a 93% landfill diversion rate. This was made possible through early auditing, a circular approach to materials, and a team that treated every recoverable element as a resource rather than waste.
The project achieved LEED Platinum, the highest level in the LEED rating system. This certification recognises projects that meet the most demanding standards across energy performance, indoor air quality, materials, water use, and site sustainability.
Globally, fewer than 10% of LEED-certified buildings reach Platinum level. That makes this achievement particularly meaningful for sustainable office fit-out in Dubai and across the UAE.
Alongside that, the project received WELL Equity certification from the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI). WELL Equity is a dedicated rating that recognises organisations taking meaningful steps to advance equitable health outcomes for all building users, regardless of role or seniority.
It focuses on access to wellness, inclusive design, and whether the workplace truly supports everyone who uses it. For Schneider Electric, a brand with strong global sustainability commitments, it is a natural fit.

International Pharmaceutical Company: LEED Gold in Dubai Media City
In Dubai Media City, a leading global pharmaceutical company has achieved LEED Gold certification for its new UAE headquarters. Summertown Interiors delivered the office fit-out, working closely with design studio Warû and project manager CBRE.
The workspace was designed to balance flexibility with focus. It includes open-plan workstations, a mix of formal and informal meeting areas, multifunctional spaces, and a state-of-the-art conference facility. Across the office, high-quality finishes sit alongside advanced technology, creating a modern and practical environment that supports the people working there every day.
